SEASON OF LOVE!!!

Hey peeps,
The season of love is upon us again, even though I don't see any reason why love should not be celebrated everyday of our lives......some people actually go off on how this date is supposed to be very special... blah blah blah.
Trust me I am a strong believer in love and very romantic but I dont expect you to show me love in just one day out of the 365 days in the year. This belef has been misconstrued by a lot of people and it is now the period where all sorts of attrocities happen, innocent girls lose their virginities all in the name of valentine's day......the devil has sold so many lies to people all in the name of valentines day.......a lot of ladies have also lost good relationships because of their belief in valentine.
Someone may have shown you all the love and attention you deserve but because he didnt buy you flowers for valentine all of a sudden he's not romantic......people show love in different ways and I am sorry to say that you cannot force someone to love you the way you want to be loved, if you cant live with the way they express love to you while dating there's no point marrying them and complaining tomorrow.
I reacently read an article in Myne Whitman's blog Dear Myne - I am Happily Married to an Igbo Man its a must read for all as it did further open my eyes to a few things on making the right choice and understanding what or who you are signing up for and learn to live with the decision you make.
Don't be deceived, love is truly what you make of it, don't be fooled with the drama that goes on in the world and enjoy your own relationship the way it is cos remember you signed up for it from the onset so make an effort to make it work and not complain.
If your spouse did not go out of his/her way to make this valentine special (according to your terms) don't go off on him/her, rather make an effort to improve on things..
Wishing you the very best.

WEIGHT LOSS SAGA..........

Hmmmm this weight loss matter no easy o, I recently had a comprehensive medical checkup and I am 100% healthy (thank God for His grace) but I found out I need to lose 7kg as my BMI indicated that I am over-weight……phew (sad face). We all know I have embarked on my weight loss journey before now.
I decided to look for trouble and told my sweetheart that I am 7kg over-weight and he goes… you see what I was trying to tell you, now you believe because a doctor told you so. But my major concern now is that according to the doctor, I not only need to cut down o my food intake, I need to eat a healthy balanced meal and throw in some exercise as well. If you know me very well, the thought of exercise freaks me out even during my full medical checkup when I had to do the ECG and the guy asked me to go on the treadmill until he tells me to stop……the most embarrassing thing happened as I started panting like a cow after 2 minutes (disgraceful huh?).
With that in mind I decided I was going to take action and enroll myself in a gym where I will be monitored and supervised cos I would just continue deceiving myself if I decide to exercise at home, laziness may creep in plus the fact that I may not have the time or the courage to see it through.
Now I have to psych myself up mentally to make that happen, hmmm if only I can find an aerobics class as I love dancing so much that will definitely ginger my spirit, but what ever the case is, I need to start exercising soon.
I encourage you all to be conscious of your health by having a regular medical checkup, it doesn’t cost so much and I strongly recommend the Union Diagnostics Center on Ogabi Eletu street off Adeola Odeku VI, with as low as =N=40,000.00 you can get a comprehensive checkup and the guys there are wonderful too. (trust me I wasn’t paid for this but anytime I find some useful information I always share it)
Have a great week guys and I hope to sort out my gym palava sooner than later.

ALL HAIL THE SUPER EAGLES.

Hey peeps,

Hwz it going? I'm sure you are still reeling from the euphoria of the super eagles wining the African cup of nations yesterday.......to tell you the truth I almost had a high blood pressure with all the drama on the pitch during the final minutes of the game. Thank God we came out strong at the end of it all…..it’s been nineteen years since we last won the cup and with all the foreign coaches and so much dollars that has been paid in the past……..it took a Nigerian coach to bring us this far

I must confess during the group stages I totally gave up on the super eagles with all the matches they had drawn, I felt like we’re back to having to qualify based on calculations and permutations……….but I guess the god of soccer heard the cries of Coach Stephen Okechukwu Keshi (the only African that won the nations cup as a player and a coach).

This came at the right time I must tell you, after Eboue has gone off on twitter insulting Nigerians, I took it personal and really prayed for the super eagles and I’m sure a lot of you did too…..now guess who’s laughing last…….the super chickens hehehehehe.

All in all it was a good outing for us and Keshi can heave a sigh of relief that the local based team he set up has done us proud as a country and I apologize openly and publicly for ever doubting this dream team.

Now I feel sad for the likes of Osaze, Obafemi Martins and the rest of them that were not part of this success story, I wonder how they feel now cos I guess like me they didn’t have faith in Nigeria; but here we are today lifting the cup again its indeed a miracle.

Once again, I congratulate all Nigerians and I hope you popped something to celebrate even if it’s a bottle of energy drink ……wink……wink…

God bless you!

God bless the Super Eagles!!

God bless Nigeria!!!

WEIGHT LOSS PART 2!!!

Heys Peeps,

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend like I did?

I felt like we needed a follow up from my last post because as it is we need some pointers on how to stay focused on the plan.

First you need weight loss boddies: You need to identify someone that you will both be accountable to each other, this will definitely keep you in check and remove any idea of cheating or decieving yourself all in the name of dieting.

Watch what you eat: A lot of our meals here is all about carbohydrates and fried food, as its mostly rice and eba all week long with no protein at all. We seriously need to cut down on our oil and cabs intake and stop frying the chicken, plantain and everything before eating.

Think Healthy: While eating, its important to think of the health impact of what we eat, instead of that whole bowl of rice, just eat more of vegetables and les of rice with boiled or grilled chicken and not fried. I recently discovered the ugu leaf and I eat it with every meal I eat, I have drastically reduced my oil intake, I stoped frying my meat, I no longer add oil to my beans and I eat beans 5 times a week instead of once as I did before. I eat more of crackers for breakfast as I have cut out bread completely (dont be decieved by wheat bread).

Water: Yeah water is very essential, drink lots of it and avoid all kinds of carbonated and sugar drinks.

Fruits: My sincere advise is to avaoid fruits as most of them are too sweet and not advisable for weight loss.

More tips coming your way as we progress, cheers and have a fabulous day.

WEIGHT LOSS!!!

Hey Peeps,

How are you all doing, its been very busy at my end with going back to work and school after the holidays, but we're all settled in now and its definitely looking like its going to be a very good year with all that's been happening.

diving into our topic for today, its a very painful topic to discuss though, cos I have been struggling to go back to been a size 10 since i now conveniently fit into a size 12 dress after the birth of my son. Its been an on going battle for me as I still eat every and any thing that comes my way and I blame it on the fact that I am currently still nursing my son.

my wake up call was when my sweetheart told me one evening that I need to join a gym, I did a double take but didnt take offence I simply asked him, honey why do you think I need to join a gym? He answered and said we all need to keep fit thats why the gym is there for us to use, my response to him was sweetie if we all have to keep fit, why are you not joining the gym or are you trying to tell me that I'm fat (I was trying very hard to hold myself from rolling over with laughter) he said hmmm I didnt say that o, I just felt we all need to stay fit and healthy......

Well point taken even though he didnt want to come out clearly and say "yes you are letting yourself turn into a mama" but I took that as a warning bell and decided to do something about my weight even though I hated excercise. I went online to do a search and I stumbled onto at how she was able to loose so much weight in 7 months.

http://www.bellanaija.com/2013/01/14/not-only-depressing-but-also-scary-buying-a-size-18-dress-forced-28-year-old-tayo-badejo-to-get-on-the-fitness-ride-6-tips-to-effective-weight-loss/

I was encouraged to do the same, I started from my diet because 80% of your weight comes from what you eat, first I banned banga soup in my house, I started eating more of vegetables and basically watching what I eat, its not been easy but I have survived week 1 of the plan though I havent noticed any changes yet, I know it will all work out if I am consistent with the program.

You are welcome to share your tips on how you lost the baby fat and what the turning point for you was.

SO MUCH TO BE THANKFUL FOR!!!

Hey Peeps,

How are you all doing and trust you had a fabulous weekend.....This weekend for me was quite slow as I was recorvering from the flu....yeah I got bitten by the flu bug during the week and had to go into the hospital for 3 whole days, scary right? especially when I was told I could not have my 8 months old son that I still nurse through the night stay with me in the hospital.

Anyways I'm thankful I'm out and reunited with my family again (huge smiley face).

The season is upon us again, yeah its that time of the year again when people are generally happy and have so much to be thankful for. As for me, I have tooooo much to be thankful for in 2012. God has indeed been too faithful to me and my household that if i start testifying now it will take ages for me to finish what He did in this 2012 alone.

My God is indeed a God of signs and wonders, He healed, delivered, uplifted, improved, increased, elevated, promoted, satisfied, provided, protected, strengthened, transformed........gosh i can go on and on and on.......that's how great my God is, I dont know about you though but I am truly happy and blessed for 2012 had its challenges and it eventually came with mighty blessings.

I just want to encourage you today, you may think He has not fulfilled all the promises He made to you this year but look around you for a minute and see that He has been very good in so many areas, He kept you alife (so many people passed on this year and I lost a dear friend) but you are still here; that on its own is enough testimony, you are healthy, no matter how hard its been, you still manage to find food to eat and you have shelter over your head (lots of people live under the bridge and have no food to eat or clean water to drink).

Its time to quit whining and be thankful for the little thigns we have. By the way the year has not ended, so there is still room for more blessings to happen.

Be cheerful this season, show love to the people around you, share your food and drink, you never know, you might just minister to an Angel.

God bless you and do have a very merry Christmas celebration and remember that Jesus is the only reason for the season (do what He will do if you were Him).

Enjoy!!!!
